Within Spring Valley’s boundaries can be found a variety of smaller communities – Casa de Oro, Rancho San Diego, La Presa, Dictionary Hill, Mt. Helix, and Bancroft. Spring Valley is named for the natural spring located there. It was long the home of the Kumeyaay tribe, who called it Neti or Meti.
